Joanne Loo

Joanne Loo (b. Melaka, Malaysia) is a visual artist. She examines collective personal experiences and how they connect, divide and define what it means to be human. Her current practice incorporates drawing, painting and papier-mache clay sculptures that stem from written reflections. Joanne places emphasis on colours and textural contrasts; imagery and the written word, to express themes of awareness, reflection, and emancipation of self.
